By Myself

24 x 20 inches / Oil paint

Through a jagged tear in a wall, I peer down at four fragmented versions of myself, each draped in vivid, clashing colors. They argue in a chaotic tangle of gestures and expressions—a debate that feels endless. This piece captures the restless theater of my mind, where thoughts often spiral into contradiction, paralyzing me in their noise.
The figures embody the most vibrant facets of my inner self—unfiltered, raw, and unapologetic in their intensity. Yet their quarrels are strangely captivating. There’s beauty in the disorder, an odd harmony in their discord.
In “By Myself,” I tried to externalize what it feels like to wrestle with one’s own thoughts—to wish I could tear through the confines of my head and simply observe. And while it’s maddening, it’s also a glimpse into the kaleidoscope of unique personality that lives within me.
